PRCA Midlands FrontLine reactivates young PR community

Birmingham, 9 August 2010 - PRCA FrontLine, a group dedicated to providing advice and support to practising PR professionals from account executive to account director level, has appointed two Birmingham professionals to reactivate its Midlands arm.

Megan Woods of Sutton Coldfield PR consultancy Haslimann Taylor and David Kuczora of Clive Reeves Public Relations in Birmingham, have been announced as chair and vice chair, respectively.

Over the coming months, Megan and David will work with FrontLine members to hold a series of social and training events for members of PRCA accredited agencies and communications teams across the region.

The official relaunch saw FrontLine members take part in a ‘Have I Got News For You' themed pub quiz at All Bar One, Brindley Place - hosted by the Birmingham Post's very own Tom Scotney, fresh from a recent appearance on Mastermind.

Richard Smith, Chair of the PRCA Midlands Group said: “The Midlands has a vibrant PR industry and FrontLine has a crucial role to play in developing a sense of community among young PR professionals from both agencies and in-house communications teams."

“Megan and David will be working closely with FrontLine members over the coming months to deliver a calendar of networking, social and training events to equip the next generation of PR practitioners with the tools they need to progress their career”.

About the PRCA

Who we are:
Founded in 1969, the PRCA is the professional body that represents UK PR consultancies, in-house communications teams and PR freelancers.  The PRCA promotes all aspects of public relations and internal communications work, helping teams and individuals maximise the value they deliver to clients and organisations.

What we do:
The Association exists to raise standards in PR and communications, providing members with industry data, facilitating the sharing of communications best practice and creating networking opportunities.

How we do it and make a difference:
All PRCA members are bound by a professional charter and codes of conduct, and benefit from exceptional training. The Association also works for the greater benefit of the industry, sharing best practice and lobbying on the industry's behalf e.g. fighting the NLA's digital licence.

Who we represent:
The PRCA represents many of the major consultancies in the UK, and currently has 197 agency members from around the world including the majority of the top 100 UK consultancies. Having launched in-house membership last year it also represents 31 in-house teams including many of Europe's leading corporations and UK public sector organisations.
