PR Leaders expect budget to stimulate sector

London, 28 March 2011 - PR Leaders have welcomed the latest budget as positive for their organisations. The survey highlighted that 45% of respondents believed the budgets would be either positive or very positive for their organisations, only 11% believed it to be negative. The panel were more muted in impact the budget would have on them as individuals.with 37% feeling positive about it but 26% reacting to it negatively.

Francis Ingham, CEO of the PRCA, welcomed the budget for the PR sector, saying “The UK is the world hub for public relations. The cut in corporation tax is great news for businesses and the announcement that WPP will move its headquarters back to the UK is a huge boost for the sector. But this budget is great news for the small agencies that drive the innovation that make us the leading market for PR and comms internationally and will be key to the UK recovery.”

The Leaders' enthusiasm for the Government's economic policy has however faded since the coalition announced its first budget in 2010. In a similar survey about the June 2010 budget 65% of respondents welcomed the budget however in the poll conducted last week only just over 41% of respondents were positive about the Government's economic policy to date.
