PRCA Chief Executive Commits for 2011/2012

London, Thursday 22 July - The PRCA today announced that its Chief Executive, Francis Ingham, has agreed to remain in his existing role until at least January 2013.

The agreement binds Ingham to the organisation throughout the 2010 to 2012 PRCA Chairmanship of Sally Costerton, Hill and Knowlton EMEA Chief Executive and Chairman.

Sally Costerton commented: "We are delighted that Francis Ingham has reinforced his commitment to the PRCA going forward. We have ambitious plans for the PRCA's future, and we welcome the continuity of leadership that he will provide in helping us make those plans a reality."

Francis Ingham added: "I am very happy indeed to be continuing to lead  the PRCA over this period. In recent years, we have changed the PRCA fundamentally and for the better. I look forward to delivering the next stage of our ambitious agenda, as we provide our industry with ever stronger leadership."

David Gallagher, current Chairman of the PRCA and Chief Executive of Ketchum Pleon Europe, said “PR has long needed a strong presence to ensure that our voice is heard. Francis has vigorously led the debate on key issues such as the NLA's proposed web-licence, the regulation of lobbyists, evaluation and digital. I have no doubt that PR and communications will continue to benefit from his continued leadership.”

About the PRCA
Who we are: Founded in 1969, the PRCA is the professional body that represents UK PR consultancies, in-house communications teams and PR freelancers.  The PRCA promotes all aspects of public relations and internal communications work, helping teams and individuals maximise the value they deliver to clients and organisations.

What we do: The Association exists to raise standards in PR and communications, providing members with industry data, facilitating the sharing of communications best practice and creating networking opportunities.

How we do it and make a difference: All PRCA members are bound by a professional charter and codes of conduct, and benefit from exceptional training. The Association also works for the greater benefit of the industry, sharing best practice and lobbying on the industry's behalf e.g. fighting the NLA's digital licence.

Who we represent: The PRCA represents many of the major consultancies in the UK, and currently has 197 agency members from around the world including the majority of the top 100 UK consultancies. Having launched in-house membership last year it also represents over 30 in-house teams including many of Europe's leading corporations and UK public sector organisations.
