PRCA to Sponsor Fire Communicators' Conference

PRESS RELEASE

London, 5 September, 2011 - The PRCA today announced it is to be a headline sponsor of the annual FirePRO conference for Fire and Rescue Service PR and Communications teams on October 18 and 19.

The two organisations have been working together to establish personal development opportunities for FirePRO members. This will include the PRCA offering its members in Fire and Rescue Services (FRS) free online public relations and communications training.

FirePRO chair, Steve Chu, said: “We are delighted to announce this partnership and I look forward to welcoming the PRCA to our conference.

“The FRS is facing a number of significant challenges over the coming months and it is more important than ever for the fire and rescue community to communicate effectively with their stakeholders. The PRCA will provide invaluable support in helping FRS communicators to be effective in their role.”

Francis Ingham, PRCA Chief Executive, commented: “These are tough times for the public sector. We are delighted to be able help FirePRO support their members as they deal with the cuts. Our offer of unlimited free online training is one which has been widely taken up by other public sector organisations enabling them to continue the professional development of their staff while protecting budgets.”
