The PRCA Advanced Certificate
The PRCA Advanced Certificate is designed to help practitioners develop the skills necessary to become highly effective. Practitioners will become more confident by using the theory they have learned to validate decision-making processes. By using enhanced practical competences developed throughout the diploma, candidates will become more efficient, structured and strategic.
By qualifying for The PRCA Advanced Certificate, practitioners will provide a better service to their employers, colleagues and clients. By meeting like-minded industry professionals, students will also be able to develop their own PR network.
The PRCA Advanced Certificate is aimed at practitioners who have one to two years experience in the industry and would like to improve their skills and understanding within the industry and develop their skills further and for those moving over from another industry who would like to gain understanding and PR specific skills.
Structure
The PRCA Advanced Certificate is based on a modular points system, with practitioners required to attain 320 points, gained by completing training modules. The structure is made up of six sections:
- PR in Context
- Planning, Writing, Running a PR Campaign
- Pitching and Presenting
- Creating; Writing and Selling News
- Specialist PR (public affairs, crisis management, city and financial PR, digital and corporate social responsibility).
- People Skills
At least one module from each of the six sections must be completed.

Assessment
Practitioners will then be required to undertake a 2000 essay-based assessment (the subject of this will be submitted to the Qualifications Board for approval) and a presentation about their essay to the Qualifications Board.
Commencement Date and Completion Length
Practitioners can commence their Advanced Certificate studies at any time, and will have up to two years to complete the training modules, essay-based assessment and presentation to the Qualifications Board in order to attain The PRCA Advanced Certificate.
Cost
The total cost of The PRCA Advanced Certificate is £1800 + vat.
