London, 24 April 2012 – The PRCA’s Midlands Group have newly appointed Bron Eames of Haslimann Taylor as its Chairman, and Clive Reeves, of Clive Reeves PR as its Vice-Chairman.
The Chairman and Vice-Chairman will work together to develop a new agenda for the group to increase interaction between PR and communications practitioners in the midlands. They will hold the positions for two years.
New Chairman, Bron Eames thanked the previous team of Kate McNamara and Andrea Benn for their input.
She said: “In terms of 2012, we want to run a programme that will appeal to both in-house and agency teams and are planning a series of ‘meet the media events’, debates, and some pure social activities, for starters. We will also be looking to hold plenty of Frontline activity for younger practitioners, and working closely with their chairman David Kuczora.”
Clive Reeves, the New Vice-Chairman said: “Of the 61,000 people employed in PR nationally, over 7,000 are in the East and West Midlands. As part of the fresh agenda I would like to encourage a higher percentage of them getting involved in the group.”
The first meeting of the Midlands Group is on 2 May 2012.

About the PRCA
Who we are: Founded in 1969, the PRCA is the professional body that represents UK PR consultancies, in-house communications teams, PR freelancers and individuals. The PRCA promotes all aspects of public relations and internal communications work, helping teams and individuals maximise the value they deliver to clients and organisations.
What we do: The Association exists to raise standards in PR and communications, providing members with industry data, facilitating the sharing of communications best practice and creating networking opportunities.
How we do it and make a difference: All PRCA members are bound by a professional charter and codes of conduct, and benefit from exceptional training. The Association also works for the greater benefit of the industry, sharing best practice and lobbying on the industry's behalf e.g. fighting the NLA's digital licence.
Who we represent: The PRCA represents many of the major consultancies in the UK, and currently has more than 250 agency members from around the world, including the majority of the top 100 UK consultancies. We also represent over 70 in-house communications teams from multinationals, UK charities and leading UK public sector organisations.
