PRCA Property Group appoints new Chairmen

London, September 2012 – The PRCA today announced Nick Dines, Director of Belgrave Communications, and Liam Herbert, Managing Director at JBP PR & Parliamentary Affairs, as Co-Chairmen of the PRCA Property, Construction, and Infrastructure Group.

Mr. Dines has over ten years of experience in communications, with a specific focus on services for the property community. Mr. Herbert has over two decades of corporate communications experience and has worked on high profile and contentious development projects across the UK covering the energy, retail and housing sectors.

Nick Dines said: “The Localism Bill has placed effective communication at the heart of the development process. It has never been more important for the PRCA to have a Property Group that engages with members and facilitates conversation between those of us who are working in accordance with the new Bill.

“Over the next two years we hope to showcase best practice in our industry, put on enjoyable networking events, and ensure that PRCA members get real benefit from the Property Group.”

Liam Herbert said:  “Planning and development is at the forefront of the Coalition Agenda, with the NPPF, major infrastructure planning and further moves to relax planning regulation.  The need for effective communication in communities, neighbourhoods and at a national level has never been more acute.  The PRCA and the Property Group must be at the heart of this debate and promote best practice and professionalism across the industry.”

Francis Ingham, PRCA Director General said: “I’m very grateful to former Chairman Stephen Pomeroy, Chief Executive at Remarkable Group, for his sound leadership and direction of the group.

“Liam and Nick will do an excellent job as his replacements, bringing years of combined experience in the property sector and an insight and passion for raising the profile of this very important and topical area. I look forward to working with both of them.”

The PRCA Property, Construction, and Infrastructure Group is a forum for PR professionals to promote how corporate communications can support the industry sector, brining together in-house teams, consultancies, and other professionals.

About the PRCA

Who we are: Founded in 1969, the PRCA is the professional body that represents UK PR consultancies, in-house communications teams, PR freelancers and individuals. The PRCA promotes all aspects of public relations and internal communications work, helping teams and individuals maximise the value they deliver to clients and organisations.

What we do: The Association exists to raise standards in PR and communications, providing members with industry data, facilitating the sharing of communications best practice and creating networking opportunities.

How we do it and make a difference: All PRCA members are bound by a professional charter and codes of conduct, and benefit from exceptional training. The Association also works for the greater benefit of the industry, sharing best practice and lobbying on the industry's behalf e.g. fighting the NLA's digital licence.

Who we represent: The PRCA represents many of the major consultancies in the UK, and currently has more than 250 agency members from around the world, including the majority of the top 100 UK consultancies. We also represent over 70 in-house communications teams from multinationals, UK charities and leading UK public sector organisations.
