PRCA announces 2012-2014 Chairman

London, 25 November 2011 - The PRCA today announced its new Officer team, including its Chairman for 2012 to 2014.

At its 41st AGM, held Thursday 24 November at Hill & Knowlton’s London offices, the Association revealed Alison Clarke, CEO of Grayling UK and Ireland as its new Vice-Chairman. Clarke will become Chairman in 2012, serving a two-year term.

The PRCA also announced that Steffan Williams, MD and Co-founder of Capital MS&L will succeed Matt Neale (European MD at GolinHarris) as Treasurer. Neale moves to the role of Chairman of the PRCA Best Practice Committee.

Alison Clarke commented “This is a pivotal time for PR –the industry is in its strongest state ever and increasingly is seeing the recognition it deserves for prospering during the current economic difficulties.  I look forward to working with Sally, Matt and the PRCA team to represent the industry’s best interests and helping it to achieve its potential.”

Francis Ingham, Chief Executive of the PRCA said “It is testimony to the continuing vibrancy and growth of the PRCA that people of this calibre are happy to run the Association. This is a stellar line up for the period 2011 to 2014 –the Chairman, CEO Europe and Chairman of the AMEASCA region at Hill and Knowlton, the CEO of Grayling UK and the MD and Co-founder of Capital MS&L, and the European MD of GolinHarris.

“There is no more impressive team in our industry, and together we will shape our PR’s future over the next few years”.

Clarke was previously Business Development Director at Huntsworth PLC, President of Weber Shandwick Asia Pacific and CEO of Shandwick Welbeck London. Prior to founding Capital MS&L in 2001, Steffan Williams was head of the global TMT practice at Thomson Reuters.

About the PRCA
Who we are: Founded in 1969, the PRCA is the professional body that represents UK PR consultancies, in-house communications teams, PR freelancers and individuals.  The PRCA promotes all aspects of public relations and internal communications work, helping teams and individuals maximise the value they deliver to clients and organisations.

What we do: The Association exists to raise standards in PR and communications, providing members with industry data, facilitating the sharing of communications best practice and creating networking opportunities.

How we do it and make a difference: All PRCA members are bound by a professional charter and codes of conduct, and benefit from exceptional training. The Association also works for the greater benefit of the industry, sharing best practice and lobbying on the industry's behalf e.g. fighting the NLA's digital licence.

Who we represent: The PRCA represents many of the major consultancies in the UK, and currently has more than 250 agency members from around the world including the majority of the top 100 UK consultancies. We also represent over 70 in-house communications teams from multinationals, UK charities and leading UK public sector organisations.
