PRCA confirms new senior management team

London, 12 April 2012 - A new management team has been announced at the PRCA in order to continue the drive to promote its members and deliver outstanding training for PR professionals.

While Chief Executive Francis Ingham remains firmly in place as leader of the flagship body, he is supported by three directors bringing with them a wide range of knowledge and expertise.

Director of Communications and Policy, Katharine Barney, is the newest addition to the team, having recently joined from local councils’ communications teams. She also has a strong background in journalism having spent five years at the Evening Standard, latterly as City Hall Reporter and also written for the Mail, FT and Independent.

Meanwhile Katie Goodrum has been promoted Director of Events, Marketing and Commercial Partnerships. In addition to running the prestigious PRCA Awards and the PRCA's free networking events programme, Katie will be responsible for the PRCA's overall marketing strategy and commercial partnerships.

Another internal promotion is Jessica Lobendhan, the new Director of Training and Professional Development.
Her role at PRCA is to manage all of the extensive training functions at the professional body, ensuring industry training requirements are met. She manages the PRCA extensive training programme to ensure that members and their teams are given the opportunity to maximise their skills and potential in a variety of areas. Coming into her third year, she also now project manages the PR Apprenticeship scheme for PRCA.

Mr Ingham said: “I am delighted to have such a strong and dynamic team in place to further promote all the great work the PRCA and our members do. To promote in-house demonstrates the emphasis we put on personal development while also recognising the benefits of drawing on outside experience.”

About the PRCA

Who we are:
Founded in 1969, the PRCA is the professional body that represents UK PR consultancies, in-house communications teams, PR freelancers and individuals. The PRCA promotes all aspects of public relations and internal communications work, helping teams and individuals maximise the value they deliver to clients and organisations.

What we do: The Association exists to raise standards in PR and communications, providing members with industry data, facilitating the sharing of communications best practice and creating networking opportunities.

How we do it and make a difference: All PRCA members are bound by a professional charter and codes of conduct, and benefit from exceptional training. The Association also works for the greater benefit of the industry, sharing best practice and lobbying on the industry's behalf e.g. fighting the NLA's digital licence.

Who we represent: The PRCA represents many of the major consultancies in the UK, and currently has more than 250 agency members from around the world, including the majority of the top 100 UK consultancies. We also represent over 70 in-house communications teams from multinationals, UK charities and leading UK public sector organisations.
