London, 16 November 2011 – Last night saw 40 organisations collect trophies at a glittering ceremony for the PRCA Awards 2011 hosted by comedian Rufus Hound. The event showcasing the best in PR saw Gong Muse and Barclays walk away with Agency & In-house Campaigns of the Year in front of 840 of their peers.
The prestigious Awards held at London’s Park Lane Hilton, saw some of the biggest names in PR and communications in attendance. 29 award categories recognised excellence from campaigns, teams and individuals; with NHS North West, O2, Burston-Marsteller UK, Mischief PR, Gong Muse and Barclays each scooping two gongs.
Francis Ingham, Chief Executive of the PRCA, commented “The calibre of entries at last night’s PRCA Awards is testament to the strength of the PR industry and the incredible talent of those who work in it.
“A great deal of hard work into making this year the PRCA’s biggest ever awards both in terms of entries and attendance. I would like to thank the Awards sponsors, all the judges and the entrants themselves for making this a night to remember.”

About the PRCA
Who we are: Founded in 1969, the PRCA is the professional body that represents UK PR consultancies, in-house communications teams, PR freelancers and individuals. The PRCA promotes all aspects of public relations and internal communications work, helping teams and individuals maximise the value they deliver to clients and organisations.
What we do: The Association exists to raise standards in PR and communications, providing members with industry data, facilitating the sharing of communications best practice and creating networking opportunities.
How we do it and make a difference: All PRCA members are bound by a professional charter and codes of conduct, and benefit from exceptional training. The Association also works for the greater benefit of the industry, sharing best practice and lobbying on the industry's behalf e.g. fighting the NLA's digital licence.
Who we represent: The PRCA represents many of the major consultancies in the UK, and currently has more than 250 agency members from around the world including the majority of the top 100 UK consultancies. We also represent around 70 in-house communications teams from multinationals, UK charities and leading UK public sector organisations.
