PRCA Endorsed Fresh Award Winners Announced

The PRCA endorsed Fresh PR Award winners were named at last night's award ceremony.

Manchester based SKV Communications scooped the Grand Prix for the best overall entry at the second annual Fresh PR Awards held last night in the Deansgate Hilton Hotel. Their J'aime la Tour entry for Visit Blackpool also scooped the winning award in the Freshest Digital and Freshest Public Sector campaign categories.

Almost 200 PR and Communication professionals from around the country attended the glittering awards ceremony which was hosted by comic Nick Helm and saw Brighton based agency Man Bites Dog, take the title as the Freshest PR Consultancy of the Year.

Derbyshire County Council took the In-House Team of the Year Award whilst Jaime Markey from Manchester based JAMpr took the title as the Freshest Young PR Professional, having started the consultancy from scratch in 2006.

Other key winners on the night included BJL who won two awards, one for their Be Cotsafe campaign for FSID's in Community Relations and one for their BJL, Strength to Change campaign for Hull PCT in the Freshest Not for Profit Campaign, and Peppermint PR who scooped two awards for their Red Recession Dress work for Big Discount Store, in Consumer Campaign and in Low Budget.

The judging was chaired by industry guru Mark Borkowski who commented “The standard this year was better all around and the submissions caused much debate amongst the panel, so deciding upon the ultimate winners was tough. Fresh once again shows that the communications industry is alive and thriving outside of the Capital, and is delivering an innovative approach to the awards genre which focuses on creativity and innovation to maximise impact. "

Fresh used social media platform Twitter to announce the results live from the event which tied in well with the overall theme of the awards this year given the increasing use of Digital platforms to strengthen communication in PR campaigns.

About Fresh

The Fresh Awards is an independently owned organisation that works in conjunction with a variety of leading industry titles, delivering awards programmes designed to recognise and reward creativity, effectiveness and innovation in the Creative, Digital, Media and PR arena's in the UK (outside of the M25) and Ireland. Now in its 7th year, Fresh has quickly become an established brand and important highlight in the industry calendar, with an original approach to awards delivery and a policy of keeping the process of entering awards as transparent as possible. Fresh has invested heavily in online to offer entrants a simple and easy process for submissions and to ensure all entrants are kept up to date about every stage of the awards. Additionally we have a unique “listen rather than lecture” ethos where we encourage all entrants to help shape the awards and to ensure that the categories, judges and events all meet the approval of our entrants. Fresh is also the only UK based awards programmes to donate a percentage of every entry to the industry charity NABS. Fresh is committed to ensuring the appointments of only the very best people to judge the awards across all three of the programmes as well as making the events themselves, not only spectacular but fun and a real chance to network.
