Event Overview
This debate tackles the challenge faced by businesses trying to remain apolitical in feverish political times. Not taking sides, on Trump, Brexit or the myriad of issues dominating politics, has become more difficult, perhaps impossible, for businesses, especially when even saying nothing, or trying to conduct business as usual can be spun by either side of these increasingly polarised debates.
Not only do brands need to think about how what they say plays into narratives of nationalism, protectionism and division, but also how they respond to unprecedented public attacks. When a tweet from the most powerful man on earth can wipe billions off a share price, this is a challenge they must all prepare for.
