Event Overview
The global public relations industry is widely a female-dominated sector, with many market statistics (depending on nation) placing women in the field between 60-80%. Yet gender pay gaps persist, as well as women often missing from senior and executive management ranks.
In this special #PRCAethics Month session, a robust conversation about the data and ethical considerations of PR’s gender pay gap challenge will be explored, as well as solutions and management considerations:
• To what extent the gender pay gap is an issue in PR, particularly as a female-dominated industry
• The obvious AND lesser-known / counter-intuitive issues faced by management teams seeking to contend with their gender pay-gap challenge
• Key best-practice successes by companies that are overcoming these challenges well vs. key failings of companies that are making continued missteps
o Consequences of failure
o Consequences of inaction
• Critical roles of internal communications and trust-building, as part of the process (and what barriers exist as part of these processes)
• Ethical issues at hand:
o Fairness
o Disclosure / transparency
o D&I
o Legal
• Next steps and calls-to-action
