M&S joins PRCA

The PRCA today further strengthened its impressive list of Associate Members through the addition of Marks & Spencer as its latest recruit. The inaugural list of in-house communications teams who joined the PRCA as Associate Members over the summer included an impressive list of household names.

Dominic Fry, Director of Communications and Investor Relations for M&S said, ‘The PRCA's plans to support the industry are ambitious and we are delighted to be a part of this latest initiative. We set ourselves the highest standards and are looking forward to working with the PRCA to help develop their training programme, codes of conduct and key performance indicators & advice for those running communications teams.

Francis Ingham, director general of the PRCA said ‘Having one of the UK's leading consumer brands such as M&S join us, reflects the huge improvements we've made to the Association over the last eighteen months. It also reaffirms our belief that the best work comes from agencies and in-house teams working together. There is a real desire on both sides to further raise the quality of communications and Marks and Spencer's involvement in this initiative will help us achieve this.'

About the PRCA

  • The Public Relations Consultants Association (PRCA) exists to raise standards in PR and to help members be better organisations.

  • Networking and best practice groups: the PRCA organises a number of groups to help members stay ahead of industry trends and raise general industry issues. 
  • Promotes the value of PR and the need for standards: the PRCA provides a strong voice on a range of issues relating to PR. 
  • Lobbies government on key issues: the Association represents members' interests in areas with Government and other relevant organisations such as the FSA.
