Rod is the founder of Rod Cartwright Consulting - a communication consulting firm whose mission is to deliver human connectedness through human preparedness. This purpose is driven by the belief that for all the power and importance of technology, it is people who ultimately create trusted dialogue and determine communication success.

Rod has 25 years’ global agency experience, counselling clients including Nissan, Accenture, Whirlpool, Malaysia Airlines, Dell, Toyota, Western Union, IBM, Medtronic and Qatar Foundation. He works with agencies and in-house teams across issues management & crisis communication; leadership communication & executive preparedness; thought leadership & corporate reputation; and strategy facilitation.

Before setting up his own consulting firm in 2019, he was EMEA Regional Director at Archetype (formerly Text100), having spent a decade at Ketchum as a global partner and Director of the firm's Global Corporate Practice. In that role, he developed and led the multi-award-winning annual, global Ketchum Leadership Communication Monitor study and is a seasoned international speaker, trainer and facilitator.

He also held UK Board Director positions at Hill & Knowlton and GCI, having started his career in public affairs. He is a former long-standing PRCA Executive Committee member, chaired the PRCA Public Affairs Committee for a decade, sat on the PRCA Professional Practices Committee looking into the Bell Pottinger Affair and represented the industry as part of a Parliamentary select committee enquiry into lobbying.

Rod is Founder of strategic communication consulting firm, Rod Cartwright Consulting, and has 25 years of international consulting experience. He has held board-level positions at three international top-10 communication consultancy networks – Ketchum, Hill & Knowlton and GCI – and was EMEA Regional Director at Text100 (now Archetype).

 

Rod specializes in issues management & crisis communication; corporate reputation & thought leadership; leadership communication & executive preparedness; public affairs & stakeholder engagement; and, integrated communication strategy. He has advised major corporations across four continents, ranging from Nissan, IBM, Dell, Accenture, Gazprom and DHL to IATA, Toyota, Western Union, McKinsey, Malaysia Airlines and P&G. He is a PRCA Fellow and former PRCA board member, and is a regular international conference speaker.
