PRCA Awards First Practical PR Qualification

London, 26 October 2010 - The PRCA today announced the name of the first person to be awarded a PRCA qualification. At a ceremony in Winchester earlier in the week, PRCA Chief Executive Francis Ingham awarded the PRCA Foundation Certificate to Winchester-based Remarkable Group's Amy Bryant-Jeffries.
PRCA qualifications have deliberately been designed to be affordable, practical and flexible. Amy achieved her qualification after studying modular courses for 9 months, moving from receptionist to account executive in the process.
Amy commented, “I'd certainly recommend a PRCA qualification. Mine was filled with practical insights that helped me in my day-to-day job. My Foundation Certificate has helped me achieve a promotion and given me a firm foundation for my career in PR.”
Jessica Lobendhan, PRCA Training Manager, said “We've invested heavily in creating an industry-leading programme of practical, affordable courses and qualifications. In these tough times, employers do not want pseudo-academia - they want practical learning that will make their employees better at their job. That's exactly what we're providing. About the PRCA
Who we are: Founded in 1969, the PRCA is the professional body that represents UK PR consultancies, in-house communications teams and PR freelancers. The PRCA promotes all aspects of public relations and internal communications work, helping teams and individuals maximise the value they deliver to clients and organisations.

The PRCA qualifications are modular based allowing practitioners the flexibility to tailor their qualification to the specific demands of their career.
Methods of Learning
Practitioners taking PRCA qualifications will have the opportunity to learn through face-to-face and interactive webinar training.
Within our highly interactive workshops, students will discover the principles of good PR, examine industry best practice and learn practical skills.

The PRCA qualifications are designed to help PROs develop their skills to become even more effective PR practitioners. The combination of theory and practical workshops will give them the tools and confidence to become more efficient, structured and strategic.
