PRCA Scotland Group event: Inclusive Employers

Event Overview

PRCA has launched its Diversity and Inclusion Guidelines following the PR and Communications Council’s pledge to improve diversity within the industry.

According to the PR Census 2016, the industry is 91% white and 89% British. In addition, 64% of the industry is made up of women but the gender pay gap in 2016 was £9,111 in favour of men. Only 2% of PR and communications practitioners consider themselves to have a disability and, finally, 85% of the industry describes themselves as heterosexual. These statistics highlight the need for a collaborative, industry-led approach to tackle the problem.

The PRCA has always been committed to improving diversity within the PR and communications industry and we are pleased to invite you to attend our Inclusive Employers event in Edinburgh where we will discuss how to harness talent and keep it, while ensuring diversity and inclusion within the workplace and the wider industry.

The PRCA’s Guidelines document is designed to act as a guide for organisations and professionals in the industry looking to gain an understanding of how to improve workplace inclusion.

Chaired by Natalie Buxton, Director of Weber Shandwick, and Chairman of PRCA's Scotland Group, this event is open to agency and in-house professionals and students from our three University Partners.
