Event Overview

Q&A with Magnus Boyd, Partner at specialist media law firm Schillings

As organisations prepare for the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) coming into force later this month, and with high profile incidents such as Cambridge Analytica just behind us, we speak to specialist media lawyer Magnus Boyd, partner at Schillings, about data breaches and how to manage them from a communications perspective.

A key part of GDPR is that data breaches must be notified to the regulator within 72 hours of detection – which means that communications professionals managing the incident must react quickly and efficiently. Given the nature of these crises, working closely with legal teams is often essential to mitigate reputational damage.

This event is worth 15 points in the PRCA CPD Programme.
