The latest figures suggest one in three people in the UK have listened to a podcast in the last six months, 21% of them for the first time. With additional research showing that because they’ve heard about them on a podcast, one in four (25%) listeners have watched something on TV, one in ten (10%) think more favourably about a brand and more than one in 20 (6%) have bought tickets to an event.

Sophie Herdman is UK Content Director at the podcast hosting platform Acast where her role primarily involves finding and launching new podcasts and helping shows to grow. Sophie works with popular podcasts like The High Low, Table Manners with Jessie Ware, and Reasons to be Cheerful.

Jared Shurin MPRCA is a Strategy Director at M&C Saatchi. In his previous role as Planning Director at Kindred and with a passion for publishing, Jared was responsible for the highly successful eight-part brand funded podcast series Missing, created to promote Tim Weaver's novel What Remains for Penguin Random House, in the wake of the game changing NPR series Serial.

Andrew Bloch MPRCA, Founder and Managing Partner, Frank. Frank were one of the early pioneers of podcasts, launching their first branded podcast for Compare The Market nearly ten years ago, which saw Aleksandr The Meerkat interview guests including Piers Morgan and David Haselhoff.  Last month, Frank launched the Direct Line Good Carma podcast series, featuring comedian Richard Herring and psychologist Dr Gary Wood, as part of a campaign raising awareness of the brand’s changes to its No Claims Discount policy, which mean customers won’t lose their discount if their cars are damaged in certain scenarios such as being hit while parked.
