Event Overview

We all know that PR is a young industry. With an average age of 28 and a growing interest in apprenticeships and school leavers, this is only likely to intensify.

At some point, we will all have been challenged by the different approach to the workplace that some younger generations have, and we all know that managing this more effectively will help to combat some of these challenges we’ve faced and improve our businesses. As we prepare for the newest generation, Generation Z, to join our workforce, what more do we need to be doing to keep up with the ever changing demands on our industry – when some of us are still struggling to get to grips with how to manage and motivate millennials?

This panel discussion will look at how the PR industry needs to adapt in order to keep up with these ever changing trends, and what more we need to be thinking about to future-proof ourselves for more millennials, Generations Y, Z and, eventually Generation Alpha joining us.

Speakers:

Emma Hazan MPRCA is responsible for the creative direction and growth of Hotwire’s global consumer portfolio. With 20 years’ experience, Emma has spearheaded comms campaigns for brands including BlackBerry, O2 and Shazam. Today, she works across the Hotwire global portfolio to provide creative insight to Visa, HomeAway, Hostelworld, Asus and Tinder. Emma is the creator and author of Understanding Generation Alpha.

Kate Stevens CMPRCA is a specialist in technology PR. When she started her career at the end of the dot-com boom that meant a combination of online services, consumer technology, and enterprise tech. And now of course everyone is a tech company. Kate is the managing director of AxiCom in London, WPP's only tech specialist PR firm, and is colloquially known as ‘the people person’, having been responsible for a raft of new training and development initiatives across the firm.

This event is worth 15 points in the PRCA CPD programme.
