Event Overview

The PRCA and PR Week recently published research on the mental health landscape in the PR and communications industry. The picture was one of positive momentum and massive interest along with some significant threats and much work left to do:

  • The November 2018 survey attracted twice as many respondents as in 2017
  • 53% felt comfortable talking about mental health with line managers (up from 43%)
  • But worryingly, 49% of respondents felt under more pressure than 12 months ago
  • There's also a ‘perception gap’ between bosses and employees. 60% of bosses felt their organisations were ‘very supportive’ of employees suffering from mental ill health but only 20% of their staff agreed.

At the last PRCA mental health event, the panel was asked “who are the senior industry role models in this space?” This highlighted an opportunity for a greater number of more vocal and visible leaders talking about their own experiences and pushing positive change.

On March 11th, we will address this balance with brilliant agency, in-house and third party leaders, sharing their stories and their counsel on how we can collectively do better;

  • Leanne Ehren - Communication and Stakeholder Engagement Manager at London Stansted Airport and wellbeing advocate.
  • Billie Dee Gianfrancesco, Head of PR at Vardags
  • Bibi Hilton - Managing Director of Golin London and President of Women in PR.
  • Rob Stephenson, Founder of InsideOut, a social enterprise that publishes a list of senior corporate mental health role models
  • Nicky Young, Group MD Mullenlowe Salt
  • Jane Fordham, Founder, Jane Fordham Consulting, your chair

When you reserve your place, we want your anonymous contributions to set the scene (in three sentences or less);
