Event Overview

To mark the 50th anniversary of the PRCA, the National Conference will take place at a new venue with a new two-day format, aimed at providing an even broader range of insights for the whole industry. The conference will be chaired by Jim Donaldson MPRCA, Chairman, PRCA.

On Day Two, we take the theme of Next Generation PR forward with a bespoke mix of training workshops aimed at providing the skills needed to create the leaders of the future. Each session will last 3 hours. All attendees of Day Two will receive a certificate of qualification after attending the day.

Live Crisis Simulation

Trainer: Kate Hartley MPRCA

In the live crisis simulation interactive training session, attendees will experience what it's like to manage a live crisis as it unfolds on social and digital media. Using Polpeo's interactive crisis simulation platform, delegates will work in teams to mange a cokmpany's reputation as a crisis hits in real-time. The session is designed to test and improve crisis handling skills discuss approaches with peers and with the Polpeo trainers, and provoke discussion about how to creat crisis plans that are robust enough to withoold an attack during a crisis. Also, every delegate will have a 30 minute one-to-one coaching session to reinforce learning and discuss an action plan for their organisation or client.



Curating Compelling Content for Social Media

Optimise the effectiveness of your social media activity with proven tips for creating compelling content, in our Creating and Curating Compelling Content for Social Media course. This comprehensive workshop looks at the importance of providing engaging content to your fans and followers, to increase the virality of your messages and content, and energise your campaign across the social media universe.

The workshop will provide proven best practice guidance for content creation on the core social media platforms; Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, Google+, Pinterest, and blogging.  All theory will be supported by up to date case studies, enabling you to get the best from your social media activity.

Communicate Like a Leader – Find your Voice and Grow your Gravitas

One of the key tools of great leadership, now and in the future, is an ability to communicate with confidence and skill.  In this lively and interactive session you will learn the fundamentals of excellent face to face communication for a variety of different scenarios:  how to exude gravitas and presence through verbal and non verbal techniques; how to present with clarity and relevance so that you can hold and inspire an audience; how to approach difficult conversations; how to manage meetings; the power of listening; the art of small talk and networking, and how to motivate and empower others.  The training is highly practical.  You will leave with a set of tools to implement immediately, and the unique 18-month programme of follow up support will ensure that your new behaviours are reinforced, extended and embedded.
