Event Overview

PRCA’s Charity and Not For Profit Group visit PRCA Scotland with a master class in how behaviour change theory and tactics can make us better communicators.

This event is open to those working in charities, not for profit organisations and PR and communications practitioners as we provide the perfect opportunity for all to network, discuss the latest issues in charity communications and share insight in a relaxed environment.

Giving us their expert view will be Ben Caspersz is Founder & Managing Director of Claremont, a multi award-winning behaviour change communications agency in London.

Founded in 2009, Claremont has worked with government, big brands and charities including Cabinet Office, National Audit Office, Department of Health, Department for Education, Mind, Alzheimer’s Society, MS Society, the European Commission and the Mayor of London.

Claremont is at the forefront of developing technologies and techniques in communication, and Ben regularly gives talks on the use of behavioural insights to effect change through social marketing. Most recently he has been a guest lecturer at Westminster University Centre for Professional Communication and was principal trainer at a two-day behaviour change boot camp for the UN World Food Programme in Egypt.

Ben is currently advising a police force on how to reduce casual cocaine usage, helping a housing association to prevent rent arrears caused by the rollout of Universal Credit, and leading a NHS campaign to promote cervical cancer screening.

After an introduction to top tips and best practice in behaviour change and "nudge" theory, there will be an open discussion, chaired by Simon Francis MPRCA.

Simon has worked in communications for over 18 years and led high profile integrated campaigns for Engineering UK and England’s Department for Education. Further experience includes running campaigns for Brathay Trust, Power To Change and Project Syndicate. He co-authored the Freedom To Campaign Guide to the Lobbying Act.

He is Founder Member of Campaign Collective, Chair of PRCA’s Charity and Not for Profit Group and an Association of Colleges Trustee.
