Event Overview

As organisations become more international and the rest of the world is only a Zoom call away, communicators are having to be ever more alive to cultural sensitivities in planning their communications.

For this edition of #ChatAndConnect, join IC expert Liam FitzPatrick and employee experience measurement guru Annabel Dunstan as they ask how can employee engagement pros understand national cultures better? For the chat show style event they’ll be joined by friends from India, New York and France – countries where we may all speak the same languages but often mean different things. As well as bringing engagement experience, the panel knows a thing or two about brand, CSR and digital.

Attendees will get the chance to join in the conversation with:

    • Ruby Thapar will be joining from Mumbai - Program Director at The Conference Board. Previously, she was Director Corporate Affairs, India; Issues & Crisis Communication Leader - India, Middle East, Africa & Turkey at Dow Chemical International.  She has also worked across a range of sectors, development and academia in roles in CSR,  and in corporate reputation & advocacy.

    • New York based Lara Vandenberg – founder of Publicist, the online marketplace connecting freelance PR and marketing professionals. She also leads communications and marketing for Knotch, a digital-marketing measurement company. And she recently , launched The Transparency Standard, a certification program for marketers.

    • French born, Mélanie Chevalier is the founder of cross-cultural consultancy Creative Culture. Raised in Taiwan, Brazil, Cameroun, Spain and France she's spent the last fifteen years in the UK and dedicated her career to her passion: cross-cultural communications, advising international brands on how to best communicate and build bridges between central and local teams. Aside from wider marcomms and advertising, Mélanie and her team lead multiple initiatives around diversity and inclusion across cultures to support brands and agencies in our industry.
