Event Overview

Sustainability, ESG, purpose… Companies are needing to respond to multiple stakeholder pressures on these matters – adapting business models, product innovation investment strategies and reporting. How is this trend impacting communications? Where are the opportunities and risks, and how can we better challenge our clients to respond?

We will hear from Robert Nuttall, the sustainability-focused management consultant at Fortitude Partners. From his work with M&S on its Plan A strategy back in 2007 – one of the first major sustainability initiatives from a large company – to more recent work with leading companies such as Unilever, L'Oréal and Pernod Ricard, Robert has been at the forefront of some of the most innovative and impactful corporate sustainability initiatives.

With over 15 years in communications roles in large corporates before moving into strategic consultancy, Robert will draw upon his experience to provide an overview of how the corporate approach to sustainability has evolved and the impact of this on communications across stakeholder groups, and the investment community in particular.

Some areas that will be explored include:
•    Ambition: how organisations are positioning sustainability as a core element of their strategy to meet the huge challenges and opportunities over the next decade
•    Alignment: bringing internal teams together to ensure communications addresses expectations of multiple stakeholder groups
•    Robustness: setting out, measuring, and communicating sustainability and ESG ambitions – embracing transparency and using communications as a lever for change

As an interactive discussion, there will be an opportunity to ask questions throughout.
Zoom links will be sent out to all attendees 24 hours prior to the event start time. If you sign up after this time, please contact kyrie.abrahams@prca.org.uk for the link.
