Event Overview
A Panel Discussion moderated by Simon Hawtrey-Woore, Executive Coach
The menopause is often referred to as "the change" or "that time of your life", associated with hot flushes, night sweats and mood swings. But there may be wider issues, such as bone health or heart health; and existing medical problems could also be affected.
Menopause symptoms can be tough to cope with at any time, but especially so at work. Some women are reluctant to talk to their employers about it, so it’s important to ensure you have the right support in your organisation.
This Masterclass will debate why we need to talk about menopause now, what steps can be taken to improve our understanding of it, and what practical actions can be taken to make menopause easier to live through. Topics addressed will include -
- When menopause can start and what kind of symptoms may be experienced
- How these symptoms may be managed naturally
- How menopause could affect someone at work
- What is the line manager’s role in supporting menopause at work?
- The effect of stress on the severity of symptoms and how to address this
- The peri-menopause
- Tests that women should consider at this stage in their lives
- Having the right conversations: where help is available, in and out of the workplace
