Event Overview

Last month, journalists providing public service broadcasting were given ‘key worker’ status by the government and as many adapted to presenting from home (or in the case of Chris Evans, a boat), the important role they fulfil in delivering information to audiences and justification of this categorisation was highlighted by spikes in viewing and listening figures.

Whilst LBC’s daily reach was up 43% in March and listening hours up 17% year on year, a large number of podcast genres were also experiencing a significant increase in popularity. Education, entertainment, science and health all reported to be up by more than 10%.

Broadcast Group Chairman and Deputy Managing Director of broadcast specialist markettiers explores the effects the Covid-19 pandemic has had on the media and audience behaviour, as well as what this means for PR professionals.

Speaker:

Daniel Stainsby CMPRCA
