At this session, Lucy Lewis, Partner at law firm Lewis Silkin, will focus on employment contracts, starting with a brief introduction to the different ways that you can engage with staff (e.g. different types of freelance arrangements) and the risks associated with those.
In relation to employment contracts, she will consider the terms that you would expect to see in an employment contact with a particular focus on:
- Duties and obligations
- Termination rights and notice periods
- Intellectual property
- Restrictive covenants
This session will also explore the restrictions on your ability to change terms and how things (not included in the contract) might become contractual.
