The PR Apprenticeship is a level 4 Higher Apprenticeship in Public Relations, equivalent to the first year of a degree. Apprentices are employed by a PR and communications agency or in-house PR team. They work full time for 15 months whilst completing on-the-job training an assessment.

Each PR Apprentice is assigned an assessor by PRCA who come to see them once per month, sets and structures their work. All PR apprentices are paid at least national minimum wage (between £10,000 and £13,000 per year) but usually more.

At the end of the apprenticeship, 85% of PR Apprentices stay on in their organisation and continue their career in PR.
