We are delighted to announce Darryl Howe as our speaker at our Public Affairs Group event on Monday 31st October.
Darryl will speak about how to engage with Whitehall, drawing from his experience as a civil servant in various Government departments. His talk will be followed by a Q&A session.
Darryl's career anchor was the Cabinet Office but he also held posts in the Foreign and Commonwealth Office, Inland Revenue, Department for Trade and Industry, National School of Government, and the Government Whips Office.
He advised ministers on a variety of policy issues from deregulation to human rights and advised the Cabinet Secretary and the Prime Minister on public appointments. He co-ordinated the government's response to inquiries by the Committee of Standards in Public Life and briefed Ministers for appearances before Select Committees. He has experienced working in highly charged political environments including during the capture of British Navy personnel by Iranian forces and the cash for Peerages investigation by the Met.
