Event Overview

As employers, are we doing enough to support parents – both mums and dads – at work? What more could and should we be doing – and why?

The business case for diversity is well established, and in PR we know that talent is the bedrock of our success, and always in high demand. At the same time, despite being a female dominated industry, PR is struggling to close its gender pay gap.

This panel discussion will look at the role family-friendly policies play in addressing these issues. It will explore what parents are looking for from employers and how successfully the PR sector is meeting these needs. We will consider the challenges and opportunities that this presents, how to create cultures that enable both mothers and fathers to enjoy successful careers while caring for their families and the impact this has on our businesses.

Panel:

Karen Mattison is Joint CEO and Founder of Timewise, a social business that is growing the market for quality flexible and part time roles. Karen was made MBE for her work bringing flexible hiring to the UK recruitment market and was named the UK's most influential 'Women Changing the Business World' by Director magazine.

Eleanor Orebi Gann MPRCA, Director, Collaboration at Visa Europe, has a career spanning senior roles in agency and in-house PR and will talk about her experiences as a working parent who shared parental leave equally with her husband.

Adrian Talbot MPRCA, CFO at Hotwire, is a business leader with experience across the media sector, and will talk about the business impact of supporting working parents as well as his experience of working flexibly to care for his children.

Rohan Shah MPRCA, MD and co-founder of Reuben Sinclair, a leading PR Recruitment Consultancy. Rohan has helped some of world’s largest & smallest companies to attract exceptional PR talent as well as working with select clients on improving and adopting effective recruitment strategy and processes.
