Event Overview
After a sustained period of massive layoffs at tech companies, many entered 2024 with hope that this would be a year of recovery. And while Gartner says that IT spending is expected to increase 8% to $5.1 trillion, this year - jobs continue to be impacted. In the first couple of months of the year, Cisco, Microsoft, SAP and Docusign are among a group of big tech companies that have made cuts. The effect on in-house PR teams has been significant - along with the ripple effect on professional services companies, like PR agencies.
Our panel will discuss this seismic talent issue, which is deeply affecting our industry and this sector. We'll explore:
- How and why the tech comms industry has been so acutely impacted
- Tips for navigating the redundancy process
- Bouncing back and figuring out what's next
- Standing out within a competitive job market
- The importance of self care: protecting your wellbeing during a challenging period
- Representation: how a skew towards PoC/women is adversely affecting D&I
This event is worth 15 points in the PRCA CPD Programme.
