PR Apprentice Q&A: Ellie Carpenter #NAW2023

In honour of National Apprenticeship Week 2023, we did a brief Q&A about Ellie Carpenter's apprenticeship experience so far. Ellie is a PR Apprentice at All Spring Media and is expecting to complete the programme in October of this year. We expect we will be hearing from Ellie again this year, to celebrate her achievements!

How have you progressed so far in your apprenticeship and career? (i.e. skills, responsibilities, title, promotion, pay)

Since starting my apprenticeship, I've developed a plethora of skills and expanded my responsibilities. I have led external communications on various projects, causing my confidence to flourish. Writing blogs and newsletters is a responsibility that has become a great interest of mine. I can't wait to see what the rest of my apprenticeship holds!

What are your career goals following your apprenticeship?

Following my apprenticeship, I hope to stay working in PR within the Screen Industries - perhaps working with production companies.

What are some pointers that you'd give to those considering a PR apprenticeship?

To anyone starting a PR apprenticeship, I'd say jump at any opportunity you get given. Put yourself forward for roles or projects that may be a little outside of your comfort zone. It's the only way to see what you are really passionate about and what you might want to do in the future.

The PRCA delivers the Higher PR & Communications Assistant Standard, with the structured support of the Level 4 Diploma in PR. Both are nationally recognised. Flexible in structure, employers can tailor the Diploma using optional units to suit the needs of the business. Learners are placed in the workplace and complete on-the-job training and assessment. Click here to find out more about the PR Apprenticeship programme.
